Texas Residential Construction Liability Act (RCLA)
The Texas RCLA sets forth standards that govern certain home remodeling projects.
Texas Residential Construction Commission Act (TRCCA)
The Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC) has adopted standards, procedures, and deadlines that homeowners must follow prior to asserting home remodeling claims involving construction defects. The TRCC requires not only that all builders and remodelers register with the commission, but also that they register all new homes they construct as well as all remodeling projects that change the size of a home's living area that cost more than $10,000.00.
State-sponsored Inspection and Dispute Resolution Process (SIRP)
The SIRP, as the TRCC's State-sponsored Inspection and Dispute Resolution Process is commonly known, applies to both new construction and certain home remodeling projects.
Many of the overlapping rules, regulations, and statutes that govern home remodeling claims in Texas contain important deadlines and procedural requirements.
